sprint mogul is here!

After much speculation as to a launch date, Sprint has finally released the HTC Mogul 6800. This marks the launch of the first CDMA device that has Windows Mobile 6 and that will be EVDO Revision A capable.
The Mogul joins it's cousin, the HTC Titan, which has been available on AT&T/Cingular since November as the 8525, but this unit remains a Windows Mobile 5 device (unless, of course, you hack into yours and upgrade it to 6, like our esteemed editor-in-chief, Mia). Also the Mogul's GPS functionality hasn't been crippled so you'll be able to run navigation programs like Telenav, without a separate Bluetooth module.
Originally planned for a May, then an October release, the Mogul's launch was moved up at the cost of not being ready for Sprint's fastest data service, EVDO Revision A. A software upgrade, which will be available later this year, is promised to make the Revision A available to the Mogul buyers.
Truly the gem of Sprint's current offerings, this workhorse packs every imaginable feature into a form that is much sleeker that it's predecessor, the 6700.
Available exclusively from Sprint's website and business sales, with release into retail stores in July.

wirless provider Telus in canada got in the htc S720 windows mobile 6 smartphone, The HTC S720 re-invents the wireless smartphone by combining the features of a wireless PDA in a familiar 'phone-like' design, with Windows Mobile 6. supports High Speed (EVDO) network. and has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. it says on their website that its available exclusively from TELUS, but that doesn't mean sprint or verizon will not get it here because its exclusive only in canada for TELUS, sprint should be releasing this phone at the end of the summer (why always the last one?...) has 64MB RAM & 128 MB ROM, will support a EVDO Rev. a update.

New HTC Touch phone launched

HTC surprise notice on june 5, is the HTC Touch. it has Windows Mobile 6 which is called TouchFLO. The purpose of TouchFLO is that the software can tell if you're using a finger or stylus on the screen. If you're using your finger, a nifty "three-dimensional" interface of media, applications, and contacts will activate. specs are: tri-band GSM/EDGE, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, 2 megapixel camera, 2.8-inch screen, 128MB of ROM, 64MB of RAM in a pretty small package. It's available in two color choices of Wasabi, and soft black and available in the UK starting now. I personally applaud HTC for their efforts here, but to make all that hoopla over launching this? more info here

Samsung unveiled a beautiful new handset

Samsung has unveiled a beautiful new handset, and it looks to be quite the impressive. Co-designed by Samsung and Jasper Morrison, the SGH-E590 is decked out with a 3.2 megapixel camera that includes a panorama shot function, 90 MB of onboard memory, an external flash slot, and more. Unfortunately the radio's top out with Tri-Band EDGE. No 3G. The cornerstone of the device is clearly the design, which is a smooth, black brushed metal affair. Aside from its visual similarity to Sony Ericsson's design standards, it looks pretty good,

Sprint's 6800 phone get a date: June 18

The HTC Mogul's (PPC-6800's) release date on Sprint has been very shaky; first we heard May (and we all know how that turned out...), then we heard October -- now we're hearing June. Yeah, June '07, as in "this month." That's a nice little surprise, is it not? Of course, dates are always subject to change, but seeing how we have some official-looking material now touting June 18 as the date (with an EV-DO rev. A upgrade dropping this fall), it's promising. MSRP for the device clocks in at $549.99, with a two-year saving you $150 to bring it down to $399.99. As expected, Windows Mobile 6 is on board -- thank goodness -- though it appears that retail stores won't get it until nearly a month later on July 16.

Samsung develops new slider smartphone

Samsung is said to be developing a new windows mobile smartphone called the i620. Though nominally related to the i600, it is considerably different stylistically, since it is not only a slider but clad in metallic colors, and equipped with seamless frontside buttons. The direction pad, meanwhile, has been flattened out into a wheel. Features are otherwise very similar, such as HSDPA, Wi-Fi, and a VGA front camera; the only real upgrade is the rear camera, which has jumped from 1.3 to two megapixels. No regions or dates have been attached to the phone, but since it is merely a GSM tri-band unit, it will likely remain in Asia and Europe.

Palm releases security update for Treo's

Palm has released a security update for the Treo 650, 680, and 700p Palm OS based smartphones to fix a vulnerability in each respective device's Find application. The vulnerability allows the password protection feature of the handsets to be circumvented by running the Find application from the 'Make Emergency Calls' screen, allowing a malicious user to see search results from the built in Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, Memos, and Email applications. The user will not be able to move past the search results screen, however.
The security update is available by visiting the Palm support website and selecting your handset model. The patch comes as a regular Palm '.prc' file that needs to be installed and run on the affected devices

New Samsung m300 now on Sprint

new on sprint comes the M300, a flip phone with similarly styling from the m510, but a considerably not so power full and a lower price point. besides a meager VGA camera, the M300 lacks EV-DO data or expandable memory. On the upside though, you get Bluetooth, MMS support, and voice dialing for just $30 on contract in your choice of silver or red. We haven't seen it go live for purchase on Sprint's site yet, but it should show up any time now .
