After much speculation as to a launch date,
Sprint has finally released the
HTC Mogul 6800. This marks the launch of the first CDMA device that has Windows Mobile 6 and that will be EVDO Revision A capable.
The Mogul joins it's cousin, the HTC Titan, which has been available on AT&T/Cingular since November as the 8525, but this unit remains a Windows Mobile 5 device (unless, of course, you hack into yours and upgrade it to 6, like our esteemed editor-in-chief, Mia). Also the Mogul's GPS functionality hasn't been crippled so you'll be able to run navigation programs like Telenav, without a separate Bluetooth module.
Originally planned for a May, then an October release, the Mogul's launch was moved up at the cost of not being ready for Sprint's fastest data service, EVDO Revision A. A software upgrade, which will be available later this year, is promised to make the Revision A available to the Mogul buyers.
Truly the gem of Sprint's current offerings, this workhorse packs every imaginable feature into a form that is much sleeker that it's predecessor, the 6700.
Available exclusively from Sprint's website and business sales, with release into retail stores in July.
